Calling all fruity coffee lovers, this one's for you!! Expect notes of blackcurrant, tropical fruit and lime.
This Cooperative is a combination of 5 factories namely Gathugu factory, Kieni factory, Kagumoini factory, Kiamabara factory and Gatina factory. Coffee trees were grown in red soil with high bimodal rainfall (1200mm p.a.) with temperatures ranging between 13-25 degrees Celsius. An average farmer in this region own about 0.3 hectare of land to plant coffee, which is about 300 trees.
Upon arrival at the station, coffee cherries are pulped in reservoir tanks with clean water from Ruiru river. The cherries are then rested overnight and then washed, soaked and dried on raised beds.
