At every Christmas time we bring you a very special Christmas coffee to our Berlin cafés and of course also to the online shop, but this year it will simply be spectacular. The Caturra variety from Costa Rica perfectly combines fruity notes of red grapes and milk chocolate with a full round body, a sweet caramel note and a creamy-chocolaty aftertaste. The Christmas Coffee is available this year as a filter or espresso roasting.

Mulled wine was yesterday!

The variety Caturra is naturally prepared. This means that the ripe cherries are spread out on a terrace after harvest together with pulp and dried by the sun before the peel is removed. In this way, the cherry can absorb the full taste and sweetness of the fruit. Caturra convinces with fruity, gentle and full-bodied properties. When enjoying the espresso, a balanced fruity sweetness crystallizes with notes of cherries, caramel, oranges and exotic dried fruits, which make you forget the cold weather and warm your body from the inside out. The chocolate aftertaste ensures that you get the perfect Christmas feeling in the finish.
Alberto Guardìa has been growing coffee for over 50 years. Its family farm - with the sonorous name Hacienda Sonora, is located on the fertile foothills of the famous Poas volcano in the West Valley, Costa Rica. It is mostly surrounded by untouched jungle. The preservation of the rainforest is very important to the Guardìa family. That's why they just let him grow and in it their coffee plants. The coffee trees ripen excellently under the protective roof of the shady trees: they receive enough moisture to develop optimally. A Pelton turbine is used as an energy source for the entire finca, which is driven by the hydropower of a stream. This raging, beautiful body of water supplies the entire finca with '100% green energy'.

We have known the Guardìas for several years now and are pleased that they are giving us the beans for the Christmas Coffee this year. Having met such an extraordinary family that grows unique coffees every year with mind and love for nature means a lot to us and we want to get rid of one thing at this point: MUCHAS GRACIAS for the great cooperation!!
